Logical game

You have to develop a web service able to play Rock-Paper-Scissors game with the central player provided by the organizers.

Game rules: A Rock-Paper-Scissors game consist of more iterations. In each iteration the players choose a “throw”. There are three permissible "throws" in RPS: Rock, Paper and Scissors. Rock crushes scissors, scissors cuts paper, and paper covers rock. There are NO exceptions. In each iteration the player whoose throw crushes the others gets 1 point. The application must be published as a web service. The web service file must be named as Game.asmx. The application must provide one single public web method: int GetChoice(int opponentLast). The method returns the choice thrown by the web service player. As input argument it gets the choice of the last iteration of the player of the organizers. In the first iteration the input parameter has the value -1. The web service player earning the most points wins this task.

Mini Tamagochi

The goal is to create an application, where registered users are able to grow up virtual pets. The chosen final implementation and feature set of the application is up to the competitors but there is a set of mandatory functionalities:

Registration
Automatic pet generation at registration
The virtual pet is getting older in every minute. A ten minutes old virtual pet dies immediately.
The age of the virtual pet can be reset to 0 by taking care of it ( e.g. by pushing a button on the webpage)
The simulation of other activities of the virtual pet is up to the competitors (e.g. feeding etc)

The upload location of the finished virtual pet applications have to be the folder named TASK1

The local organizer team have to start the evaluation process at 21:10 PM

THE MAIN TASK + DATABASE

I graduated 10 years ago as software engineer. At the time it was more rewarding to work as a semi-truck driver. After a few years as a truck driver, I founded my own company with hard work. At the beginning I worked with only one truck, but due to the lot of contracts I could hire more and more employees. I have been working only as the head of the company for 2 years. It appeared to me that the efficiency of the drivers has been decreased recently. Due to my past when I was an employee, I am familiar with the typical rest and abuses that a driver can commit during his work, such as:

Spending more time at rest areas
Private transports
Off-route trips
Messing with the tachograph

Therefore, I decided that, using my existing IT expertise, I order a fleet tracking system that can solve the problems outlined above to increase the efficiency of the company. Such a system consists of 4 main components:

A tracking system built in the car. This system is suitable for querying the instant state of the vehicle.
Transferring the queried data to the data center via public GPRS or other channels
Storing the received raw data into a database
Web interface facilitating the filtering and the systematic presentation of the stored data.

I am interested in your proposal to realize the component described in item 4, namely the presentation and the filtering of the data produced in the first three items. I would like the system under development to be capable of the followings:

Mandatory tasks:

I.The presentation of the route of one or more vehicle on a map in a given time interval (daily, weekly).
II.Displaying the current state of one or more vehicle(online monitoring) (in order to answer the questions such as “where is my car being located?”)
III.The current position of the full fleet
IV.Special zones
(a.Naming a given area or location on the map
b.Signaling the vehicles within a certain proximity of a provided position or zone.
c.Signaling that a vehicle spent too much time at a specific position(can be provided on an area basis))
V.Generating tachograph and trip register from the received data (trip register is a special log of the route e.g. 10:00 tha car stopped at Budapest Irinyi Street, at 11:12AM the cat has started etc etc)

Optional tasks:

I.When we asses the application, it is a serious advantage to display interesting results derived from the basic data, such as detecting typical traffic jam locations
II.Filtering the fastest and the slowest semi-trucks
III.Defining named routes and detecting the deviance of the vehicles in a certain period of time
IV.Drawing heat maps based on the routes (e.g. red: most lasted routes, green: rarely used routes)
V.Coloring other special locations (e.g. resting places)
VI.Realizing other functionalities considered useful by the group (e.g. trip register (Budapest Street Vaci 83 at 10AM, Budapest Street Becsi 11AM etc) )

PARTICIPATION

Developers must follow the following steps to participate in the Contest:

Register at the Contest website
a.Choose your country where you will be attending the Contest.
Sign up and give your contact details (including an indication whether you are a student)
Create and/or join a team (3 developers per team)
Programme a mini web application and upload it to the Contest website. You can chose from the web applications listed here with the condition that all the solutions will be released as Open Source and shared on the Contest website. Details on technical requirements and other terms of use are described under Section 7.
Attend the Contest in person in the previously (during registration) chosen country location.

a. If you participate as a student, please bring a valid student ID. If you do not submit a proof of your student status, you will be participating under the category “Company”.

b.Bring your personal computer; you are also allowed to bring any kind of computing devices and tools.

c.You can use any kind of support for working on the tasks of the Contest including internet (network will be provided by the Organizers), professional materials, books, etc.; you can communicate freely with other teams during the Contest, consult outside experts and resources by means of electronic communication, telephone.
